Grounds of Care is a design studio based in the Netherlands that fosters sharing and caring practices for social and ecological regeneration.

We design soft infrastructures and urban spaces that heals the human and land relationship.

We define soft infrastructures as the relational systems—spaces, practices, and networks—that amplify collective agency through trust, reciprocal learning, and rituals of care. These interventions dismantle isolation and rebuild interdependence.

We approach soft infrastructures through practices and tools from participatory design, collective futuring, and care-centered economies.

We root all our projects in the principles of the circular economy and nature-based solutions. Nature-based solutions are actions that address societal challenges through the protection, sustainable management, and restoration of ecosystems. These can include designing for green spaces, water storage, or soil conservation.

Our focus is on applying these approaches in urban contexts, drawing on tactical urbanism approaches, which explore low-cost, short-term changes to the built environment aimed at enhancing public gathering spaces.
